Common questions

Quick answers.

01Which accounts can I connect?+

Pulse supports personal Gmail, Outlook, and Hotmail accounts. Microsoft 365 work or school accounts are supported when the organization’s policy allows third-party access and may require administrator approval.

02Does Pulse monitor my inbox continuously?+

No. Pulse checks the 7-, 14-, or 30-day period you select at app launch, when you tap Refresh, and when iOS grants an optional background refresh for enabled scan notifications.

03Why does a scan take longer sometimes?+

Longer scan windows and inboxes with more recent messages require more provider requests. Google or Microsoft may also temporarily limit request rates. Previously cached results remain available while you retry later.

04Can Pulse change or delete my email?+

No. Pulse requests read-only mailbox access. Deleting an item in Pulse only removes the local Pulse activity record; it does not delete the original message from Gmail or Microsoft.

05How do I remove my data?+

Open Settings in Pulse and choose Delete Pulse Data. This disconnects inboxes and erases the local Pulse cache, alerts, customizations, tokens, and preferences. See the Data Deletion page for complete steps.

06How do I report a security or privacy issue?+

Open a GitHub support issue with a general description. Do not post private email content or account credentials. State that the issue is security- or privacy-related so safe follow-up steps can be provided.
